Ask The Agent listings are properties not yet on the market, that potential sellers have asked to be valued – and the details are those provided by those potential sellers.

The subject line is Ask The Agent enquiry: [Full address provided by owner, including house name/number and full postcode].  Note that the “copy” that the sender receives does not show the full address.

The email will come from no-reply@expert.onthemarket.com (the same as all other enquiries).

The introduction explains to the agent what the enquiry is about, as we understand these new types of enquiry (for properties the agent may not recognise straight away) may take a bit of getting used to.

At this point, Ask The Agent appears on the web versions of OnTheMarket, which includes viewing the website on a mobile phone browser, etc, but not on the apps (downloaded from app stores). It will appear only in the residential Sales, and Farms estates & land channels. Additionally, we don’t show Ask The Agent listings when the search carried out was based on a postcode, a school, or a similar point of interest (POI), as this could allow someone to pinpoint the exact property.

The longest an Ask The Agent property listing will remain on the website is 60 days.  It may be removed sooner if other newer Ask The Agent listings are created, which push it off of the carousel, and it will be removed if we match it to an actual full property listing that is submitted to the website by an agent (as we’ll assume this means the vendor has instructed it to be sold and this is the result).

Currently, we can only display data for Ask The Agent listings that have been submitted directly to us by the potential vendors through our valuation forms.
