What is phishing?

Phishing is the fraudulent attempt to obtain sensitive information such as usernames, passwords and credit card details by pretending to be a trustworthy entity, usually via email.

Scammers will often try to cause alarm by sending phishing emails claiming that they have an urgent message. In the context of our member agents, they may claim to be a security alert, a missed lead enquiry, or a suspension of access. They may urge you to enter your log-in information to retrieve this alert or prevent an apparent suspension. Occasionally phishing attempts can include requests to open files and attachments contained in the email.

If you receive an email you’re not sure about, please forward it to support@onthemarket.com so that we can verify this for you.
