SMS two-step verification

One way we can ensure your data is kept protected is with SMS two-step verification. We recommend you register your mobile number in OnTheMarket Expert, so that we may text you a code when you log in from a new device. If you haven’t set this up yet, you’ll see a banner displayed when you first log into OnTheMarket Expert, which will allow you to register in your own time.

You can also add or update your mobile number through the Security Settings tab in MyExpert. Simply click your account menu in the top right, select MyExpert from the available list, and then select Security settings on the left-hand side.

Password strength

Make sure your password is different from the passwords you use for other websites, such as your personal/business email accounts, online banking account, or social media accounts. That way, if one of your other accounts is compromised, it’s less likely to impact your OnTheMarket Expert account.

Online security

A few general guidelines to help you stay safe online:

• Always log in at https://expert.onthemarket.com/: Check any page’s URL before you enter your login info – when in doubt, you can always type expert.onthemarket.com directly into your browser.
• Look for “https://” at the beginning of the URL. This means that your connection is encrypted, protecting the integrity and confidentiality of data sent between your computer and OnTheMarket Expert.
• Keep your devices and software up to date: Device manufacturers and software providers often provide updates that address security risks and introduce new security protections.
• Install antivirus software: Install antivirus software from a trustworthy source to detect, prevent, and remove common viruses or other types of attacks.
• Check the sender: Be sure to only click links or download any attachments if you know and trust the source.
